autumn leaves - peel park, salford, november

a warm lunchtime in november: sunlight dapples the carpet of yellowing leaves on the ground, and a light wind sways the branchs above. this panorama was shot in peel park, a municipal victorian park located behind the university of salford. considered by some to be the world's first public park when it opened in 1846, it now provides a quiet green space close to the city centre, running along the meandering bank of the river irwell.
