getting closer to the sky

the view from astride pendle hill, looking towards the village of sabden: shot on the first warm weekend of spring, with clouds scudding eastwards across the pennines. although you can barely see them here, paragliders were riding thermals rising from the ribble valley and up the slopes. the forest of pendle is best known for giving its name to a famous witch trial in 1612.
